MOVEMENT DEVELOPMENT

CREATING YOUR WATCHMAKING PROJECT TOGETHER

Our Open R&D department is a genuine creative center for our customers. Listening attentively to your needs, we set up a tailor-made partnership. Together, we define a movement or a module fit for you. If you so wish, we can guarantee you the exclusivity of a design, the material of a component, a module or even a calibre.

THE VMF TECHNICAL OFFICE, OUR STRENGTH IN PROPOSALS

At the heart of our Technical Office, our engineers and technicians devise complications, special mechanisms, and new movements. The potential of our innovations is developed in pre-studies, which are then proposed to our customers. Feasibility studies and technical studies then begin.

The know-how of the Technical Office is based on a team composed of:

  • Watch movement designers
  • Engineers, watchmakers
  • Project Managers

PRODUCTION ENGINEERING OFFICE

Link point between production and the Technical Office, the Production Engineering Office devotes its skills to the industrialization of our movements. In addition to designing the tools needed for production, it is one of the pillars of productivity improvement as well as implementation of state-of-the-art equipment, such as collaborative robots and 4.0 machines.

Composed of engineers, technicians and mechanics, the Production Engineering Office is an essential asset in the implementation of agile and efficient processes.

THE WATCHMAKING LABORATORY, AN ESSENTIAL ROLE

Its role is to follow the construction of prototypes and validate them. We are in the process of introducing ten-year homologation for all our calibres.

Assembled by our prototype watchmakers, the movements undergo a complete battery of tests. We adhere to the standards set by the Swiss watch industry, and also offer other more advanced specific tests.

After validation of the prototypes production can start, while ensuring that the specifics of the new calibre are rigorously maintained.

Finally, in close collaboration with the after-sales service, the Laboratory will focus on each return, in order to continuously improve our movements.

The role of our Watchmaking Laboratory is to assemble the movements and carry out operational testing, develop the first prototypes, establish test protocols, and having carried them out analyse the results. It will then propose alternative or adapted solutions in collaboration with the Technical Office.
Bringing together the skills of watchmakers, technicians and other experts, our Watchmaking Laboratory also has state-of-the-art skills in coatings, materials, and lubrication.
